Finance Department (FD) is responsible for financial management of the GIC group. We ensure financial stewardship and reporting for the GIC group, and act as Finance Business Partners to optimise corporate financial planning and the use of operating budgets for growth and sustainability. We harness data and technology to create insights for financial decision-making and achieve excellence in financial operations.

We are looking for a suitable candidate to join the Finance Business Partnering team with the Finance Department. As a member of the Finance Business Partnering team, your responsibility includes financial performance management, stakeholder partnership and advisory, driving excellence in deployment of resources, strategic benchmarking, business appraisal and budget planning for the various departments/functions of the GIC Group.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a Finance business partner for our internal departments and support the respective department Directors and their senior division heads by providing advice and direction on financial matters
  • Be the focal point of contact to business operations and work closely alongside business operations to solve business challenges
  • Provide periodic financial reporting and analysis to steer business performance and manage costs
  • Support the efficient and effective deployment of resources
  • Synthesize information, uncover trends and deliver insights to improve decision making
  • Support business discussion and decision making by performing meaningful financial modelling exercises
  • Strong understanding of the FP&A methodologies and other financial policies and procedures
  • Interpret Corporate planning and budgeting policies, guide business operations to meet requirements while delivering on business goals
  • Lead initiatives to design, transform and innovate planning, reporting and analysis processes
  • Lead budget planning, forecasting, monitoring of cost targets, benchmarking and appraisal analysis
  • Lead peer benchmarking function to provide relevant, meaningful data points to drive better decision making and improvements within GIC
  • Assess peer benchmarking results with business performance, identify improvement opportunities and work with the business to achieve them
  • Maintain network with selected peer group functions to keep abreast of latest developments and share knowledge and best practices where possible.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in finance with a bias towards Finance business partnering roles, coupled with FP&A and controllership experience
  • Experience in the fund/asset management industry will be advantageous
  • Experience in leading a team and working alongside senior stakeholders such as business GMs, Business Operations leaders, etc. to drive financial business performance for a profit center, product line, business segment or in a similar capacity
  • Significant experience with executive-level consultations. This requires skills in fact-based analysis, synthesis, presentation, and interpersonal interaction.
  • Experience in performing/leading benchmarking studies
  • Strong leadership, influencing, problem solving, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Communicates in a clear, succinct, organized and convincing manner verbally and in writing
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and deliver in a fast-paced environment
  • Independent, resourceful and able to work collaboratively with business stakeholders and finance colleagues
  • Proficient in technology tools and data extraction/modelling/visualization tools
  • Understands the investment business and financial markets
