Strategy

This is a critical role within the Strategic Projects team in Sustainable Finance. and key to the success of all sustainability related programs. This is an important role in ensuring a well governed, organised and managed program. While scale, scope and complexity of projects/initiatives may vary, the responsibilities are required to be delivered under tight deadlines, across multiple geographic locations, with demanding stakeholders and under strict financial scrutiny.
Business
  • Support the development and implementation of strategic and operational initiatives related to key areas within SF.
Processes
  • Ensure the delivery of initiative in line with the Bank's control and governance framework.
  • Implement governance standards, including tracking, monitoring and updating the status of project deliverables.
  • Propose control improvements, enhancements and simplifications where appropriate.
  • Ensure all project/initiative deliverables, artefacts and approvals are stored in a structured discoverable format for future recovery and audit.
  • Conduct monthly CSTs checks on funded projects.
  • Provide effective support including meeting scheduling and minute taking, team and stakeholder liaison, representation at meetings, coordination of programme activities.
  • Prepare monthly reporting as required for any meeting forums.
  • Cost management activities aligned to investment fund initiatives, ensuring that cost information relating to ongoing initiatives is robust. This includes, working closely Hives' PMO to understand their budgeting & forecasting, as required.
  • Work closely with Business Management and Finance team on budgeting & forecasting.
  • Drive proactive management of issues and risks - working closely with the Hives' PMO and recognising the overall Program level risks and identifying mitigation action plans.
People & Talent
  • Develop a strong working relationship with COO Functions, Front Office, Risk, Sustainability, Legal and Compliance, Finance and other key stakeholders on SF-ESRM Strategic Initiatives, Process and Governance.
Risk Management
  • Knowledge of tools, techniques, and strategies applied in financial risk management, the ability to quantify, qualify, and manage financial risk.
Governance
  • Develop robust governance structures to support Sustainable Finance business alignment with the relevant frameworks and budget.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Lead the SF function to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank's Conduct Principles. Fair Outcomes for Clients, Effective Financial Markets, Financial Crime Compliance, The Right Environment.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
Key stakeholders
  • CCIB COO Functions, CCIB Frontline Sales, Climate Risk, Group Sustainability, Legal and Compliance, Finance Head of SF Strategic Initiatives, Head of ESRM.
Other Responsibilities
  • Embed Here for good and Group's brand and values in Singapore/SF. Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures, Multiple functions (double hats).
Our Ideal Candidate
  • 3+ years of experience in large scale program, project management in financial services, corporate or investment banking.
  • Ability to quickly ramp up on new concepts to keep up with the changing environment, deal with uncertainty.
  • Track record of managing large scale & complex global roll outs.
  • Demonstrates good understanding of a wide range of elements of the Bank's business and the customers, industries, and partners with which the Bank is involved.
  • Strong commercial acumen, as well as demonstrable experience of understanding relationships between key financial and non-financial business drivers.
  • Analytical, critical, and creative problem-solving skills with an in-depth understanding of utilizing electronic delivery channels to meet business goals and client needs.
  • Collaboration skills: ability to drive understanding and information exchange across all stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail, ability to articulate without ambiguity.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Willing to roll up the sleeves and have a 'no job is too small' mentality.
  • Experience in financial/budget management or accounting.
  • Knowledge of sustainable finance, ESG initiatives.
  • Clarity, JIRA and NWoW, Advanced Excel knowledge preferable.
