Overview of the SG Market (SGM) Team

Temasek undertakes an ecosystem development approach to build new platforms and transform existing businesses for sustainable growth and value creation. This involves strong collaboration with various stakeholders to enhance our network of partners and facilitate cooperation to catalyse building of future growth sectors in Singapore.

In support of ecosystem development efforts, SGM is responsible for forging strategic partnerships and advancing Temasek's interests with key stakeholders in Singapore. SGM works closely with various investment teams to identify and assess relevant public policies and their implications to Temasek's business interests, engages key policy stakeholders (government officials/regulators and trade unions) to provide market/commercial feedback and proposals to develop the Singapore business ecosystem, particularly in the energy, sustainability and digital space.

Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing and providing assessment of relevant public policies. He/she will help formulate and recommend execution plans that have an impact on Singapore business ecosystem and companies (e.g., policy/regulatory issues relating to ecosystem building projects and industrial relations matters in Singapore).

In addition, he/she will lead/co-lead stakeholder engagement strategies, as well as to drive the execution and management of policy engagements in focus domain areas. He/she is responsible for building and strengthening strategic partnerships with key stakeholders and translating policy engagements into tangible commercial outcomes to advance the progress of our ecosystem development projects.

He/she will also lead/co-lead in the planning, organisation and management of SGM's various stakeholder engagement forums.

He/she should possess a deep interest and ability to understand how public policies, business, finance, sustainability, innovation, workforce, as well as international relations are interconnected. These are pertinent issues that have an impact on Singapore business ecosystem and companies.

Requirements / Key Attributes
  • Degree in International Relations, Public Policy, Law, Business Management, Economics or related field
  • At least 12 years of relevant working experience in government relations or public policy within a government agency or corporate environment and has good knowledge of stakeholder management
  • Good network with key Singapore stakeholders, with a demonstrated ability to interact at the highest corporate/government/public sector levels effectively and comfortably
  • Proactive in solutioning and results focused
  • Strong analytical, communication and project management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and have excellent attention to detail while operating in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Ability to connect the dots and navigate complexities.
