Team Overview:
The FX Technology team is geographically spread across Nomura's offices worldwide and is an important and expanding business and technology space. The team supports technology solutions for the FX and Emerging markets business. This role is a Change The Bank / Business Analyst technical role. Working closely with Trading, Sales, Operations and Risk users across various offices globally.
Role / Principal Accountabilities:
This role sits within the FX team who are responsible for developing our front office Fixed Income applications. The platform is an in-house developed system and contains a series of processes tailored for the businesses requirements.
Requirements
This role requires the individual to :
• Work in a high pressured environment across geographical boundaries and work with numerous teams across technology to ensure that our production systems are developed and maintained to a high standard.
• Build strong trust-based relationships with other technology groups in vaious offices in the region and globally who we work with and depend on for global and follow the sun cover.
• Build strong trust-based relationships with the business and gain a good understanding of their processes.
• Role requires individual to work in pricing and analytics team to build and enhance robust pricing apllication which suits low latency requirements.
Skills & Experience Required:
Essential:
• Minimum of 10 years experience working with FO Trading & Sales users with top investment banks.
• Must have experience in FX and Rates cash & derivaties products, Market Data, Curve Building, Pricing/Analytics, Risk Management.
• Ablity to effectively communicate with business users / front office trading is essential.
• Self starter who will be able to quickly learn.
• Flexibility in the working hours is essential. This is a role closely aligned to trading desks and handing escalated support and it at times will require to work in various time slots, including early morning and late nights, based on the needs of business
• Excel add-ins and general Excel functionality. This is essential for the success in this role in short term, though not a mandatory skill for long term objective.
• Must have experience in Relational Database Management System (RDBMS)concepts along with working experience in Pl/SQL is desired.
Extra Notes (if applicable):
• Sound understanding of object oriented programming basiscs with some coding experience in either Java, C++ or Python.
• Working knowledge of Shell Scripting skills, bash / perl.
• Good Linux / Unix shell tool experience skills.
• KDB knowledge & experience will be additional advantage
• The ideal candidate will be a hard working, proactive individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Desire to drive continuous improvement.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks at any given time.
