- Conduct in-depth fundamental industry and issuer credit analysis and the added value of integrating ESG elements, across coverage universe, which will comprise predominantly Emerging Markets corporates and financial institutions and spread across the investment grade and high yield credit spectrum.
- Develop and communicate independent credit opinions by conducting the proprietary research process, assign internal rating score on issuers under coverage and post written reviews periodically.
- Work closely with the portfolio managers (PMs) on the Emerging Markets (EM) team, while also building relationships with all the other fixed income investment strategies which can be exposed to EM credits
- Work closely with other team members of credit research team based in Paris, United States and Singapore to share ideas and discuss industry, macro and other factors that could affect credit conditions and valuations
- Collaborate with other investment colleagues at the firm, to aid analysis and idea generation, and to optimize investment decision-making
- Make oral presentations on recommendations to various internal and external clients
Selection Criteria:
- 10+ years' experience doing relevant work in an investment management firm or related experience
- Graduate of Business School, postgraduate or equivalent. Being CFA charter holder is a significant advantage
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with a demonstrated passion for research and investing
- Ability to understand complex capital and ownership structures; the interplay between governments and corporations; creditor rights in various jurisdictions; and how those factors influence an issuer's creditworthiness
- Comfortable making recommendations that can entail significant risk and/or be non-consensus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills - can synthesize and distill significant analysis and financial information into an investment conclusion communicated clearly and concisely, with strong conviction
