About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Macro Strategist Director to join our growing Global Markets team in Singapore.

In this role, you will:
  • Develop APAC macro strategy content for clients: Cover macro events in Asia Pacific and leverage content produced by strategy and economics teams in the U.S. and EMEA, develop trade ideas, forecasts and color commentary on themes driving FX and rates markets.
  • Develop and execute client investment strategy in partnership with the Sales and Trading team in APAC
  • Track market developments and economic activity to manage risk and identify investment opportunities
  • Make decisions in complex and multi-faceted situations requiring excellent understanding of policies, procedures and compliance requirements
  • Influence and lead the broader work team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
  • Strategically collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and other global stakeholders
  • Raise the visibility of Wells Fargo macro business via appearances and commentary in global print and broadcast media outlets.
  • Lead projects, teams and serve as a mentor for less experienced staff
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Securities Strategies experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
Desired Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of macro strategy / research experience, preferably within a global commercial / investment bank, policy / central bank, securities firm or investment fund.
  • Knowledge of APAC FX and rates markets and central banks along with understanding of monetary and geopolitical issues which drive currency and bond flows.
  • Experience building/working with quantitative/statistical models and tools would be an advantage.
  • Relevant programming languages such as Python, Java, or SQL are desirable.
  • Exhibit strong attention to detail and organization.
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Solid mathematical and analytical ability
  • Ability to work dynamically and prioritise issues.
