Job Purpose

Support and advance SMBC Group's ESG commitments in APAC.
1. Supporting client engagement for decarbonisation of carbon heavy exposure and drive engagement for new clients in new sector focus areas
2. Being at the forefront of ESG and sustainable finance topics and standards through timely delivery of research on a range of thematic research reports

Job Responsibilities

The candidate will support sustainable finance business development efforts targeting our clients in APAC. Key responsibilities include:

• Be at forefront of the sustainable finance market and standard developments by conducting research, collecting, and analyzing information and share those knowledge and insights with clients and internal stakeholders
• Proactively expands knowledge in various sustainability areas to identify and advance new product opportunities

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred. Ideally finance / sustainability related.
• Up to 2 years of working experience research in the fields of sustainability, climate chnage, decarbonization strategies, low-carbon transition tech, etc.
• Candidate must have demonstrated research in one or more topics of sustainability.
  • Ideally track record of research publications
• Knowledge of banking/finance products and terminology
• Strong influencing and collaboration qualities
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate in a clear and structured manner
• Self-motivated and strong interpersonal skills
• Can demomstrate critical thinking and doesn't mind challenging the status quo
