VP, Sector Banker, Corporate Banking Dept - SMBC

Job Responsibilities

To support head of Sector Banking Team 3.
To lead setting up new team in CBAP-GCIB to get on the right track.
To support the team to execute the short/mid-long term strategy and organization designing of the team and coverage sector in collaboration with Head of Sector Banking Team 3, leveraging deep understanding of each relevant Depts./Groups/Teams' role.
To define the scope of work in the team based on the above strategy and shift through the various tasks.
To seek new Sector portfolio and opportunities for further growth of SMBC in APAC.
To support the team's activity in collaboration with Japanese Expats, Head Office Depts., Marketing Offices in Japan and also Group Companies.
To support the implementation of the required knowledge such as ESG and Digital products, gathering from relevant Depts./Groups/Teams.
To build up regular communication channel with local country corporate banking teams across APAC for the effective marketing.
To provide in-office education to junior colleagues to upskill their marketing and strategic planning skillset.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Law, Marketing, Accounting or Finance
Knowledge of financial/management accounting and banking regulations within Asian countries
At least 7 years of experience in corporate banking, preferably with Japanese banking experience and Metals, Mining and Chemicals sector coverage experience.
Experience in managing top-tier Western/Asian Multinational corporations and living within Asian countries
Excellent banking skills including credit analysis
Proficiency in Japanese is advantageous as the role will be assisting to prepare reports in Japanese and coordinate with the Tokyo Head Office
Ability to communicate with people of various backgrounds
Teamwork, Leadership, and Responsibility
Ability to work under pressure and attention to the details
