Within CAID, the Enterprise Sourcing and Procurement (Market Data Sourcing) team manages GIC's global procurement relationships with providers of market data content and services while partnering with business units to evaluate, and understand business market data requirements, to identify the data sources and vendor products needed to execute the business, and to advise on best-fit solutions. The team performs the following functions: Market Data Sourcing, Market Data Services and Spend Analytics, Market Data Contract Administration and Inventory Management.

We are looking for a suitably qualified candidate to join our Enterprise Sourcing and Procurement team as a Market Data Sourcing Specialist ( Assistant Vice President/ Vice President).

The Market Data Sourcing Specialist is responsible for acquiring, structuring, and negotiating contracts primarily for market data related products and services in support of GIC investment operations. This role serves as a Sourcing subject matter expert, partnering with business leaders to optimize financial and operational benefits as well as working with business managers and risk managers to mitigate the risks associated with third-party relationships.

The Market Data Sourcing Specialist will work with suppliers to ensure the company secures the best price and value possible, while reducing incidental and extraneous cost, all while providing support and value to internal stakeholders.

You will help handle GIC's global workplace management with centre of excellence skills.

What will you do as an AVP/VP, Market Data Sourcing Specialist?
  • Leads and manages sourcing engagements with cross-functional internal teams, including needs analysis, market analysis, competitive intelligences, RFI and RFP development, cost and proposal analysis, deal structuring, contract negotiation, and implementation development
  • In partnership with business leaders, develop short- and long-term sourcing category strategies for market data services, and execute multiple, medium to high risk and complex projects concurrently
  • Facilitates development of relationships with vendors/suppliers and maintains relationships for long-term contracts
  • Establishes systems and procedures to ensure and enhance overall quality
  • Reviews, analyzes, and monitors supplier contract performance and compliance
  • Negotiates and coordinates any modifications to agreements
  • Develops and maintains vendor relationships including tracking and analysis of vendor spend and performance
  • Maintains solutions to ensure purpose and functionality of suppliers closely aligns with business procedures, directions, and strategies
  • Manages the selection process to evaluate products based on user requirements, makes recommendations, and ensures purchases are in alignment with current standards and strategy
  • Train and develop junior staff
  • Other related duties assigned as needed


What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?
  • Good degree with 8-10 years of relevant work experience relating to the job description
  • Tech savvy; passionate in exploring and learning new skills and knowledge
  • Resourceful and has broad knowledge of procurement practices and vendors management in the market data category
  • Experienced in category management, procurement and sourcing, contract, and commercial negotiation, financial, and contract management
  • Experienced in change management, risk management and vendor management.
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills and be able to interact with internal stakeholders at varying levels in the organization
  • Strong team-player and yet exhibit independence in driving and delivering business outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to establish priorities, manage multiple tasks with poise and discretion in a fast-paced environment. Willing to go the extra mile to attend to urgent requests.
  • Excellent written and communication, and negotiation skills
  • Structured in thought process, with excellent planning and organizational ability
