Your opportunity
  • Review, update and maintain the Investment Book of Records ("IBOR") to ensure that the data used by portfolio managers, other internal / external clients and functions is of high quality and can be trusted for investment management and client reporting purposes.
  • Investigate data issues and their root cause(s) across Business As Usual (BAU) processes in order to constantly improve the quality of data and operating model.
  • Assist in the management and resolution of exceptions arising from the trade management and matching process across all asset classes.
  • Provide oversight of Janus Henderson's TPA's in accordance with agreed governance and manage them to adhere to agreed service levels and procedures.
  • Periodically review team processes and tasks to ensure they are fit for purpose, optimal and that they continually adopt the Operations Principles.
  • Improve BAU processes via automation or streamlining projects to improve efficiency.
  • Work closely with Portfolio Managers, providing assistance and support during order generation and compliance approval.
  • Attend to ad-hoc operational support requests/issues from portfolio managers, dealers and other internal / external clients in line with departmental procedures and governance.
  • Prioritise workload according to the requirements of clients and the team
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external functions e.g. TPAs, IT Market Data Manager, Fund Management, Fund Control, Operations Strategy, Business Change, Trade Management, Investment Administration, Transitions etc.
  • Provide support to IBOR projects and/or other change initiatives.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned

Must have skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skillsets
  • Ability to handle large volume of data via Excel spreadsheets
  • Knowledgeable in asset management business and in particular investment products characteristics across major asset classes
  • Firm understanding of the trade lifecycle, from order and execution management, allocation, confirmation and fail trade management
  • Experience in the processing of corporate actions
  • Ability to drive discussions with multiple groups across different business units including traders, operations, controllers and technology to create business requirements specifications

Nice to have skills
  • Previous experience of working in an investment management or related environment is beneficial - this may include either directly or via an outsourced provider
  • Ability to read and write Macros / VBA
  • Knowledge of Charles River and Market EDM is beneficial
