Job Responsibilities
  • Support the department's credit strategy and process, reducing credit loss.
  • Responsible for contributing to a healthy balance sheet for the Branches in the region assessing credit applications and recommending for approval only credit worthy proposals.
  • Develop and maintain strong stakeholder management with key stakeholders within MUFG
  • Work in partnership with colleagues across the region to best practice on Credit risk assessment, share market commentary and information on global accounts.
  • Work in partnership with colleagues in the Product Offices and in the Branches to understand pipeline transactions and their possible risks to act as a sounding board and provide advice on feasibility of deal and accurately assess credit applications.
  • Work in partnership with Relationship Managers to negotiate recommended solutions to customer's applications to mitigate credit risk for the Bank
  • Act as a role model to team members and adhere to all company policies / guidelines
  • Support, coach and guide team on complex credit applications
  • Conduct thorough review of credit applications including review of projection modelling to assess credit risk by leveraging information from various sources. Recommend changes where necessary to mitigate risks.
  • Assist in preparation and review memos to seek approval for the credit application. Memos to include detailed analysis on transaction background, structure of transactions, creditworthiness of relevant parties, and industry and regulatory environment
  • Monitor the existing portfolio by regular review of borrower ratings so that credit costs are properly calculated.
  • Work on ad-hoc credit- related projects / credit policy papers.
  • Maintain good working knowledge of industry trends, products, relevant laws and regulations in order to understand the business of the Bank's clients but also the country's economic state.


Job Requirements:
  • At least 3 years of corporate credit experience (Assistant Vice President)
  • Analytical skills to interpret large and complex data sets and ability to identify implications of data sets
  • Experience in reviewing and preparing credit application recommendations including projection modelling
  • Strong communication, writing and presentation skills with ability to influence others using complex data or analysis to support line of reasoning
  • Sound knowledge of Structured Finance (in particular Aviation Finance and Project Finance) and economic environment in the region
  • Detailed understanding of Bank's and its entities products and their risks
  • Degree qualified
