Brief Description of the Organization and Role:

Citi Global Wealth (CGW) is an integration of Citi Private Bank and the Consumer Wealth organization into a single platform enabling Citi to serve its clients across the wealth spectrum and capitalize on Citi's industry leading capabilities to support the goal of CGW, which is to be the leading wealth management provider globally. As we embark on this journey, it is imperative to have a strong Risk & Control framework, supporting this goal through an independent but integral Internal Control organization.

This role is responsible for the end-to-end management of issues for Citi Global Wealth - Asia Pacific, including project managing, monitoring, tracking and actionable reporting of issues. The incumbent will participate in cross functional working groups related to the design and implementation of the end state Target Operating Model for Issue Management and support function and enterprise-wide Issue Management Framework as and when requested.

This role will ultimately report to the Head of CGW Business Risk & Controls and will matrix report into the Head of Risk and Controls - CGW Asia Pacific

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the end-to-end management of issues from initiation, remediation and validation for a product, region or client segment.
  • Partner with Issue Owners to strengthen issue remediation including ensuring all issues are clearly articulated, appropriately documented with root causes identified and corresponding corrective action plans.
  • Facilitate the thematic root-cause analysis of issue and identify/share lessons learned to drive continuous process improvement.
  • Drive insight via tracking and aggregating analysis based on issue trending, key metrics and emerging risk
  • Provide issue management subject matter expertise support especially for key CGW and/or regulatory remediation projects.
  • Lead issue pre-validation testing including appropriately assessing completion of the actions including design and operating effectiveness assessment of controls prior for submission to validation.
  • Work with 2nd line assurance partners and IA throughout the issue management life cycle (including during independent validation).
  • Partner with Risk and Control leads, Issue Owners, and Business Management to track timely completion of remediation including identify any issues at risk and defining appropriate path to remediation.
  • Host update meetings with stakeholders globally to provide update on Issue Management Framework.
  • Active participation in developing and implementing issue management principles in line with Issue Management policies and standards across Citi Global Wealth.
  • Active participation in relevant forums to support initiatives relating to the Issue Management Framework providing credible challenge and proactive identification of opportunities for enhancing the Issue Management Framework.
  • Lead and manage staff supporting day to day issue management activities.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
Qualification, Experience and Skills:
  • Minimum of 10 years' relevant experience in working within a risk, control, compliance, legal or audit function.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in project planning, tracking, delivery and reporting.
  • Extensive experience in risk and control, supervision, quality assurance / control and monitoring processes.
  • Strong leadership skills and demonstrated experience with a proven track record to effectively drive and lead change by working effectively cross-boundaries in a global organization.
  • Meaningful knowledge of the risk management framework, including risk identification, risk appetite and strategy, risk-related decisions, processes and controls, risk analytics and governance.
  • Experience working horizontally across an organization and participating in enterprise-wide implementations of major policy and relevant risk programs.
  • Broad understanding of relevant banking regulation and supervisory expectations for large complex financial institutions
  • Well-developed listening skills and a strong ability to engage at the executive management level by providing proactive support and advice on a variety of risk matters.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and in particular ability to assess and contribute to the content of key risk and control reporting.
  • Ability to lead by example, strong influential and interpersonal skills, used to deliver results and push the organization agenda in a complex environment
  • Strong ability to engage at the senior management level and demonstrated communication experience at different levels of organization
