Role Responsibilities
  • The main purpose of this role is to develop and maintain a compelling and dynamic business segment value proposition on expanding global network business, drive the implementation of segment proposition initiatives and ensure minimum service level standards & requirements are met by key stakeholders within the network. Priority focus will be given to the top 8 Grow and Scale markets.
  • The job holder will review economic, political, social, technological, environmental and regulatory trends, competitor activity and demand levels and consistently drive marketplace influencing solutions that includes network partnerships, cross-market alliances/ initiatives as well as internal processes and capabilities to deliver them.
  • A high level of commercial awareness, strong analytical skills, the ability to work both autonomously as well as in collaboration with colleagues and partners, the ability to manage various project timelines plus deliverable, the ability to motivate people to embrace action plans and new strategies and work expediently and expeditiously are critical to succeed in this role.
Strategy
  • Develop the global network framework, model and value proposition that meet the needs of Business Banking clients with cross-border presence in the 8 key markets in line with the Business Banking global network strategy to serve our clients as they expand their footprint in the geographies in which SCB and Business Banking has presence.
Business
  • Optimize network portfolio, client revenue and return through providing consistent and superior customer servicing, targeting, pricing strategy and product capabilities across Business Banking markets. Lead the formulation and execution of business strategies to monetize the strength of Standard Chartered Bank's network footprint. Achieve financial targets, superior customer service quality and growth opportunities in new products and markets.

  • Develop, rollout, maintain and recommend procedures and controls that meet / strengthen the requirements of network acquisition and deepening programmes for clients
People & Talent
  • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations and work in collaboration with business, risk and control partners in Business Banking markets.
Risk Management
  • Ensure strict compliance with all regulations and controls as set by the Bank and external regulatory authorities. Responsible for achieving and maintaining satisfactory audit rating where needed.
Governance
  • Responsible for assessing the effectiveness of the Group's arrangements to deliver effective governance, oversight and controls in the business and, if necessary, oversee changes in these areas. Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Lead the Hong Kong Business Banking team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank's Conduct Principles. Fair Outcomes for Clients, Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance, The Right Environment.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • University graduate
  • 8 + years of proven banking experience and exposure in SME Banking, Credit and Business Performance Management, Strategy and Analytic Functions, preferably gained through experience in regional / global roles
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills and the ability to effectively work with multiple business partners
  • Knowledge of the changing competitive and regulatory environment in the financial services sector
  • Highly motivated and proven record of delivery within challenging time-scale
  • Demonstrate ability to drive projects and implement changes
  • Proven problem solving skills with the ability to consider alternative and innovative solutions
