We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Associate Director, Lending and Portfolio Management.

Principal Responsibilities

Reporting to a Director in the Regional Lending and Portfolio Management, the role holder is responsible for:
  • Managing the regional Deal Prioritization Committee process as part of a broader team of deal approvers. Providing knowledge and expertise to enhance proposed DPC and sub-DPC transactions ensuring HSBC has contemplated all aspects of the potential transactional wallet
  • Supporting the Regional Lending and Portfolio Management team on the implementation and management of the overall product strategy, initiatives, and business management for lending products such as Overdraft, Term loans, Revolving Loans, Commercial Real Estate, Leasing, and Structured Finance to align to Global Commercial Banking propositions, segmentation and participation models
  • Supporting the achievement of Revenue and Asset growth for the region by enabling countries to support key clients / relationships using the HSBC balance sheet
  • Provide coverage of certain South and Southeast Asia sites, working closely with Local Head of Lending & Transaction Management to gain a deeper understanding of local market challenges, opportunities and key clients, and to drive the Deal Prioritisation process ensuring the transactions fall within Group appetite in terms of structure and returns
  • Working closely with the frontline teams, risk through the Annual Review / GAR process ensuring that professional client plans, client coverage and necessary product partner engagement follows
  • Represent LPM at WWM meetings to provide review and challenge of credit profile and provide regional consistency across South and Southeast Asia sites
  • Alongside relevant senior management of South and Southeast Asia sites, responsible for the Economic profit improvement of MDC names; this would include setting/review and challenging the account strategy and approval of all relevant DPC requests
  • Identify and manage delivery of secondary distribution within area of responsibility to better use capital and enhance client level returns
  • Delivering fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets
  • Establishing business reporting, performance tracking and risk management metrics or dashboards to provide management visibility and inform business decisions
  • Leading reviews of the responsible product portfolios including product & pricing, portfolio reviews / analytics & risk management framework. Ensuring Governance through CMB Product Governance Board
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in Commercial Banking including relationship management experience, with strong product knowledge and understanding of clients
  • Strong team player with the ability to work with colleagues from across the first and second lines of defence
  • Numerate, with excellent analytical skills and the ability to connect external trends with business activity
  • Ability to manage multiple senior stakeholders
  • Confident communicator, with excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Strong multitasking ability, with a keen eye for detail
  • Highly motivated, eager to accept new challenges, and able to work under pressure
  • Knowledge of drivers of regulatory capital and relevant regulations impacting the business
