What will you do as an VP, Lead Network Reliability Engineer, Technology Group?
  • Design and maintain the network infrastructure: The candidate is responsible for designing and maintaining the network infrastructure to ensure it is reliable, available, and scalable. This includes configuring routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and other networking equipment.
  • Ensure network security: The candidate must ensure that the network infrastructure is secure and compliant with IT security standards, policies, procedures and industry standards. The candidate should be familiar with security protocols, such as SSL/TLS, IPSec, and VPN, to secure the network
  • Plan, Manage and Monitor network performance: The candidate must plan, manage and monitor the network performance and availability to detect and respond to issues quickly. The candidate should set up monitoring tools and alerts to ensure that the network is functioning optimally
  • Troubleshoot network issues: The candidate is responsible for troubleshooting and resolving network issues. The candidate must be able to diagnose network problems quickly and efficiently. Respond and manage incident escalations.
  • Automate network tasks: The candidate should automate repetitive network tasks to improve efficiency and reduce errors. The candidate should be skilled in scripting and automation tools
  • Collaborate with other teams: The candidate must collaborate with other teams, including developers, operations, and support, to ensure that the network infrastructure meets the organization's needs
  • Continuously improve network infrastructure: The candidate should continuously improve the network infrastructure to ensure it meets the organization's current and future needs. The candidate should stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies and implement best practices
  • After office hours and weekend support is expected

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in network connectivity services, preferably in financial services or investment banking industries
  • Networking knowledge: The candidate must possess strong foundation in networking concepts, protocols, and technologies. NSRE should be familiar with routing (BGP, OSPF, Static), switching (VLAN, Spanning-Tree), security (802.1x, ACLs, working experience with major firewall brands), and load balancing (GTM, LTM). Possess a valid Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification or equivalent. CCIE is preferred
  • Automation: The candidate must be proficient in scripting and automation tools such as Python, Ansible, or Chef to automate repetitive tasks and improve efficiency
  • Monitoring and alerting: The candidate should be skilled in monitoring tools such as Solarwinds, Datadog, or Splunk to set up alerts to detect and respond to incidents quickly
  • Collaboration: The candidate must have strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with other teams, including senior stakeholders, developers, operations, and support. Good oral, written, and presentation skills, coupled with technical reporting writing skills across various types of target audiences
  • Problem-solving: The candidate must be able to think critically and solve complex problems quickly under pressure
  • Continuous learning: The candidate must have a passion for learning and staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies
