We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an AVP, HNW Underwriting.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Perform the assessment on complex medical and financial risks of applicants for HNW business
  • Ensure that underwriting decisions are in accordance with Group and regulatory compliance and subject to robust internal controls; guidelines, while managing the associated mortality risks
  • Proactively monitor underwriting rules, guidelines and philosophy on its continuing market competitiveness, its effectiveness and in relation to emerging or changing medical and insurance risk principles and practice and put forward as appropriate recommendations and alternative best practice strategies
  • Work collaboratively with Distribution channels, including banks and international brokers to ensure production targets are delivered within stipulated SLA
  • Work closely with treaty reinsurers on facultative cases exceeding the auto bind limit
  • Participate and proactively identify opportunities to streamline internal processes, procedures, and workflow in order to enhance the overall customer journey for operational efficiency
  • Participate and support department/company initiatives to improve operational efficiency
  • Collate, analyse, and prepare new business underwriting production data for management reporting
  • Ensure underwriting guidelines are updated in accordance with Company's procedures and relevant regulations are adhered to
Requirements
  • A recognized University Degree in Insurance, Business, or equivalent professional qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of life underwriting experience
  • Possesses strong interpersonal, customer service and communication skills
  • A team player, self-motivated, pro-active
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
